Bertrand Delvaux Baryton-Basse
Belgian bass-baritone Bertrand Delvaux sang as a boy in the Namur-based ensemble La Choraline. Following a degree in Physics Engineering (Space Technology), Bertrand began to pursue musical studies, first at the Conservatory in Liège with Greta de Reyghere,later in the baroque singing class of Monique Zanetti at the Conservatory of Metz, and later in the Conservatory of Maastricht with Frans Kokkelmans.
He is member of the international baroque soloist ensemble Vox Luminis that recorded last year his first CD.
As a soloist, Bertrand’s repertoire is widely varied. He has been heard in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen (Puck : The Drunken Poet and Coridon) with Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Death in Venice (Youth) with La Monnaie, Hasse’s Ipermestra (Danao), Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona (Uberto) with Brusselse Operette Theater, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia (Fiorello) with Idée Fixe, Debussy's Pelleas et Melisande (Golaud), Prokofiev’s The Gambler with Opera Zuyd, Bach and Keizer St Marc passion, Handel's Messiah, Mozart's Requiem and KrönungsMesse, Charpentier’s Messe de Minuit and Oratorio de Noël, as well as numerous cantatas by Bach, Telemann, and Buxtehude. He also performed a solo recital of the music of Shostakovitch.
He currently studies privately in Brussels with Axel Everaert.
